Tartans top Cards in boys basketball

The Wallaceburg Tartans topped the Lambton-Kent Cardinals in senior boys hockey action on Thursday, by a score of 37-27.

Anxo Iglesias led the way for Wallaceburg with 13 points.

Gabe Namink chipped in with 8 points for Wallaceburg.

Kaelin Hunt was the top scorer for the Dresden squad with 11 points.

Skyler Simmons chipped in with 5 points.

Wallaceburg is now 3-0 on the season, tops in the LKSSAA Tier Two division.

This was the Cardinals first loss of the season, and they sit in second place in the Tier Two division with a 2-1 record.

The Lambton-Kent Cardinals continues to roll in LKSSAA senior boys hockey.

The Cards beat the Tartans 8-5 in a high scoring affair.

Zander Wright led the way for the Dresden club with 4 goals.

Cole Mackinnon and Roy Hinnegan each scored a pair for L-K as well.

Elijah Contreras, Keith Bogaert, Kyle Toulouse, Matt Gorry and Carter White all scored for Wallaceburg.

The cardinals remain in first place in the South Division with a 2-0-0 record, while the Tartans sit in last place at 0-2-0.

Seth scoreless

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith was scoreless, as the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh penguins topped the Florida Panthers 5-1.

Griffith had one hit in 6:32 minutes of ice time.

In 12 games so far this season, Griffith has one assist.

Florida will host Vancouver on Saturday night.

Puck drops at 7 p.m.

Christmas Lacrosse camp in Wallaceburg

Wallaceburg Lacrosse will be hosting a FREE kid’s lacrosse camp on Saturday at the Wallaceburg Kinsmen Community Centre.

The camp will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The camps is more Tyke, Novice and Bantam aged players, and is for boys and girls.

Helmets and gloves are requires, but sticks will be provided.
