Elsie Wilson of Wallaceburg

Elsie-Wilson-1484658248Elsie Wilson, a resident of Wallaceburg, died peacefully at Fairfield Park on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the age of 93. Elsie is the daughter of the late Cornelius & Elizabeth (De Maat) Van der Veeken.

Predeceased by her beloved husband John Albert ‘Jack’ Wilson in 1984. Loving mother of John R. (Kathy O’Hara), David (Pam), Ken (Susan), Rob (Lynn) and Chris (Patty). Dear grandmother of Terry (Sharon), Justin (Lauren), Cody, Stephanie, Katie, Matthew (Kelly), Michael, Nick (Michelle), Ethan, Allie, Ashley (Shawn) and Shanna and great grandmother of Jason and Emily. Sister of Ann Millard (late Frank) and Robert Van der Veeken (Marjorie).

Elsie had farmed with her husband Jack in Chatham Township for most of her life. She enjoyed cooking, canning and baking. She also liked to do many handicrafts such as sewing, knitting and crochet. The last three years before coming to Fairfield Park were spent at Sydenham Residence. There, she enjoyed country music, bingo and outings.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Wednesday. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Thursday, January 19 at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
