Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith has been placed on waivers by the Florida Panthers.

Teams across the NHL will have 24 hours to claim the 24-year-old winger, otherwise he will be sent down to Florida’s AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.

This is the third time this season that Griffith has been placed on waivers. He was cut by the Boston Bruins in training camp and by the Toronto Maple Leafs after just three games and limited playing time.

Griffith has recorded 5 assists for the Panthers in 21 games.

During the 2015-16 season Griffith recorded 77 points (24-53-77) in 57 games with the Providence Bruins of the AHL.

His 77 points ranked him second in AHL scoring, while his 53 assists ranked him first in the league. In the 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs, Griffith recorded three points (1-2-3) in three postseason games.

The 5-foot-9, 191-pound former London Knight was originally selected by the Boston Bruins in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
