fog-3

Update: Environment Canada ended the fog advisory across Chatham-Kent at 6:58 a.m.

Original story: A fog advisory is in effect across Chatham-Kent, as near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring.

Environment Canada officials say dense fog patches will dissipate this morning.

School buses are running on time across the region.

Visibilities as low as 100 metres have been reported across the region.

With temperatures near or just below the freezing mark, there have been reports of the fog depositing ice onto surfaces such as roads and vehicles.

Locally slippery road conditions can be expected as a result.

Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.

If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Fog advisories are issued when near zero visibilities in fog are expected or occurring.
