Environment Canada has issued a fog advisory, as near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring in Chatham-Kent.

Areas of dense fog are likely across Soutwestern Ontario tonight into Saturday morning.

A trained CANWARN spotter reported visibility dropping to less than 500 metres in fog in Kent County late Friday afternoon.

Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.

Fog will slowly lift beginning Saturday morning.

Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Fog advisories are issued when near zero visibilities in fog are expected or occurring.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.cpio-tempetes-ospc-storms.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
