Former Dresden Police Chief retires

The former Chief of the Dresden Police Service is retiring.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say Ed MacLean began his policing career on October 7, 1973 as a Constable with the Waterloo Regional Police Force.

In September of 1992, he transferred to Dresden and became the Chief of Police.

In 1998, the Dresden Police Service, Wallaceburg Police Service, Tilbury Police Service and Chatham Police Service amalgamated to become what is now known as the Chatham-Kent Police Service.

While a member of the Chatham-Kent Police Service, Ed has worked as a Supervisor in Community Patrol, a District Sergeant in Wallaceburg and Tilbury and is retired last week as a Traffic and Marine Services Sergeant.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank Sgt. Ed MacLean for his commitment and dedication to the safety and well-being of the citizens our community.
