Pat-Moynihan-1486483843Pat Moynihan, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on February 5, 2017 in his eighty- ninth year.

Beloved husband of Marie (Dulong) for sixty-nine years and son of Thomas Alexander and Mary Cordelia Moynihan. Pat was predeceased by his sisters, Claire and Gloria. He will be sadly missed by his beloved sister, Carol Weaver (Chatham) and his sister-in-law, Irene Cole (Burlington). Pat was a kind and loving gentleman, full of strength and determination who had a deep, loving affinity for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A devoted father to Michael and Agnes Moynihan (Rondeau), Patricia and Donald Reid (Perkinsfield), Shawn and Virginia Moynihan (Chatham), Kean Moynihan and Lorelie Kirby (Toronto), Colin Moynihan and Wendy Rowland (Toronto) and Thomas and Lorri Moynihan (Port Lambton). Cherished Grandfather of Daniel and Lisa, David, Michael and Tiffany, Dawn Ann and Todd, Patrick and Emilie, Christi and Dan, Steven and Jennifer, Ryan and Karin, Tom and Jody, Kyle and Jessica, Erik and Tiffany, Keegan and Brittany, William, Ben, Frances Marie, Kailie and Drew, Kenneth and Tina, and Shai. Great Grandfather to Emma, Liam, Andrew, Clare, Emma, Riley, Kaine, Grace, Lilah, Julia, Maya, William, Aiden, Dominic, Henri, Brigid, Zoe, Jaime, Violet and Marvin.

The Patriarch of 34 Water Street, Pat will be fondly remembered for his love of the Christmas holidays, his annual fishing weekend with his boys, celebrating special family vacations at Rondeau Provincial Park, his love of duck hunting and an abiding partnership with his beloved wife, Marie. Married in 1947 in Chatham, Ontario, Pat and Marie moved to Wallaceburg to open a clothing store specializing in men’s tailored suits. Energetic, determined and hardworking, he then began a successful career at Wallaceburg Brass where his business acumen carried him to the role of Vice-President and General Manager of Waltec Components and Vice-President Export & Custom Sales.

After Pat retired in 1989, he served as a Consultant for the Canadian Copper & Brass Development Association. His commitment and generosity to the community was unwavering as he served as Water Commissioner, School Board Trustee and was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, the Jaycees, the K-40 Club and the Canadian Legion. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Wallaceburg on Saturday, February 11 at 11:00 AM.

The family will receive guests at the Church in the hour prior, from 10 – 11 AM. Internment in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Chatham. Donations in Pat’s memory to the Chatham-Kent Hospice may be left at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson St, Wallaceburg 519 627-3231.
