The owners of Dresden’s downtown grocery store have added two new partners to their business.

Dina Edwards, who owns Dresden’s Foodland with her husband Gary, told the Sydenham Current that Trevor Authier and Mark de Haas have been brought on board as partners in the business.

“It has been in the works for about a year now, kind of behind the scenes,” Edwards said.

“Getting all the paper work and all the legalities and everything done.”

Edwards said it became officials on Sunday, February 5.

“Trevor has been with us for probably about 15 years, give or take, and Mark has been with us for 11 years,” she said.

“Mark is most recently been our meat manager and Trevor of course has been our store manager for a few years.”

Edwards said this is not Authier or de Haas’ first rodeo.

“They are coming in with their eyes wide open hopefully,” she said.

“It should be great because it will free us up and kind of bring some new life to the store. Some good enthusiasm that is necessary.”

Foodland is located at 256 St. George St. S. in Dresden.

They are open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  1. Nice to read this story tonight! I think this is a quality business for the community of Dresden. I live in Wallaceburg, and do not frequent their store, but I know they cater the lunches at the Cavanagh Reception Centre and their food and presentation is outstanding!
