Fatal crash between train and pedestrian in Lambton

The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are at the scene of a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and a freight train in the area of Nauvoo Road in Warwick Township.

Police officials say on Friday March 3 at just after 12 a.m., the Lambton County OPP was dispatched to the area of Nauvoo Road, Watford, regarding a collision involving a pedestrian and a freight train.

The lone pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) has been requested and is presently on scene.

Investigation is on-going at this time and further information will be released as the investigation progresses.
