Shirley Williams of Walpole Island First Nation

flowers-728811__1801-150x150-1-1-1Shirley Olga Williams, a resident of Walpole Island First Nation, died suddenly at the Wallaceburg hospital on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the age of 80.

Shirley is the daughter of the late Harold & Marie (Jacobs) Riley. Predeceased by her husband Robert Williams. Loving mother of Penny Williams (Jeff Farnham), Robert ‘Duff’ Williams, Barbara Taylor (Edwin) and Jeremiah Williams (Erica). Dear grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sister of Virginia Williams, Benson Riley, Beverly Wrightman, Rosemarie Riley and the late Marietta Oliver, Hugh Riley and Milford Riley.

Shirley was the longest serving employee of Walpole Island First Nation, working for the Chief and Council and then retiring from the Walpole Elementary School after 50 years of service.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Tuesday. The funeral will be celebrated at the Walpole Island Sports Complex on Wednesday, March 8 at 2 PM. Interment to follow at Highbanks Cemetery.
