Pataki advances to national CFL combine

Wallaceburg’s Jonah Pataki has advanced to the national CFL combine.

The second of three regional combines got under way on Friday afternoon in Toronto as the CFL hosted the Ontario Regional Combine presented by Adidas at the Varsity Centre and five prospects were selected to make the trip the national showcase next week in Regina.

Adam Adeboboye, Richard Gillespie, Jordan Hoover, Mark Mackie, and Pataki were invited to display their athletic abilities once again in front of CFL scouts, coaches, and management.

With the five additions, the roster for the CFL Combine presented by Adidas has increased to 45 prospects.

The Queen’s running back registered the second-fastest shuttle time (4.23 seconds) and second-highest vertical (36 inches).

Pataki also recorded the fifth-fastest 40-yard dash time, 4.84 seconds.

Pataki had a career-year for the Golden Gaels this past season.

He finished in fourth place in the OUA with 814 rushing yards in eight games.

He tied for fourth with seven rushing touchdowns and was fifth with 101.8 yards per game.

Pataki was also named this year’s 2016 Athlete of the Year by the Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame.

Pataki is eligible for the CFL draft this year.

The draft will take place on May 7.
