People are happy with the CKHA changes

While there are some folks in the community who are not quite sure about the recent moves by the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, and others that do not agree, the majority of residents seem to be happy with the moves.

Here are the results of a poll question we posted last week:

Are you happy with the changes at the CKHA?

Yes 50.56% (45 votes)

Undecided 29.21% (26 votes)

No 20.22% (18 votes)

Total Votes: 89

The CKHA held an open house in Wallaceburg last week as well.

Agree with council’s investment?

Chatham-Kent council approved a nearly $8 million investment into the North Kent 1 Wind Turbine Project last week.

Municipal council authorized the Municipality to invest $7.74 million into Entegrus Inc. – which is 90% owned by the Municipality – as a common share investment for a 15% equity interest stake into the project.

Staff say the Municipality will receive incremental dividends of $900,000 to $1 million per annum for the first seven years and the total dividends over the life of the project to the Municipality is expected to exceed $17 million.

Council moved the motion through by a vote of 9-5.
