A FREE girls lacrosse camp wrapped up at the former D.A. Gordon Public School in Wallaceburg on Wednesday.

Wallaceburg Lacrosse organized the camp, and has held sessions at the former school since the end of January.

My daughter Ava was one of the participants at the camp, and this opportunity has definitely sparked an interest in the sport for her.

Jamie Knight organized the camp, along with many helpers: Carl Gibson, Bronson Bea, Kaelen Smith and others.

They did an excellent job of teaching the girls (and a few younger boys) the fundamental basics of lacrosse, all while keeping the drills fun and engaging.

I thought it was a great introductory camp for girls that haven’t played before, and at the same time, was still a good opportunity for the experienced players to fine tune their lacrosse skills.

Thanks to Jamie and everyone with Wallaceburg Lacrosse for this great opportunity.
