Tartans off to perfect start in girls rugby

The Wallaceburg Tartans senior girls rugby team is off to a perfect start in the LKSSAA circuit.

The Tartans topped LCCVI on Wednesday by a score of 32-0, which improved Wallaceburg’s record to 2-0 on the season.

Sierra White had two tries to lead the Wallaceburg squad.

Stephanie Brown, Ashlyn Dolbear, Kirsten Zelina, and Marcella Nahdee all had tries as well.

Emily Tapp had a convert in the victory.

The Tartans won a close match against the Chatham-Kent Golden Hawks on Wednesday, April 12 in their season opener, winning 10-7.

Ashlyn Dolbear opened the scoring early in first half.

Meanwhile, Alli Houle scored the winning try with three minutes left in the game.

Wallaceburg will host Blenheim next Wednesday, April 26 at 4 p.m. in their next game.
