Mr. Peter DeKort, a resident of Port Lambton, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at University Hospital, London, at the age of 72.
Peter was born in Chatham, Ontario and was a son of the late Gerald and Josephine (Botte) DeKort.
Beloved husband of Dianne (Duquette) DeKort.
Loving father of Jerry (Belinda) DeKort, Gary (Melisa) DeKort and Nancy (Ed) St. Pierre.
Sadly missed by his grandchildren Evan, Cole, Gracie, Phillip and Marcus.
Kind brother of Robert (Claire) DeKort and brother-in-law of Clarence (Helen) Duquette, Don (Maureen) Duquette, Maurice (Bonnie) Duquette, Edmund (Carol) Duquette and Nancy Duquette.
Predeceased by an infant sister Diane and his brothers-in-law Richard Duquette and Robert Duquette.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Peter was a farmer in Port Lambton for many years and loved his farming community.
The late Peter DeKort is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
Following Peter’s wishes, cremation will take place. There will be no public visitation and a private family service will take place.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Diabetes Association or the Wallaceburg Animal Rescue may be left at the funeral home.
