If you have ever considered getting any Intense Pulse Light, laser, or sunspot treatments… now is the time to do it.

“Before you get that May sun tan that happens really quickly, now is the time to get one of these procedures,” said Brenda Burgess, owner of the Chatham-based cosmetic clinic, Rejuven-Age.

“We just want to keep the melanocytes not active. So that is why we can’t do this particular treatment sun tanned.”

Burgess said Intense Pulse Light is a laser treatment that helps stimulate collagen.

“Multiple treatments does help with wrinkle reduction but usually botox and fillers are probably more effective for wrinkles and treating certain frown lines and things like that,” she said.

“So this Intense Pulse Light is for sunspots on your hands, brown spots… some people used to call them liver spots. It really is just for sun damage. Around here we have a lot of northern European people with a little fleck of red in them or the red gene and they tend to have a lot of issues with redness and trying to keep that under control.”

Spring, summer, fall or winter, Burgess said it’s always a good time for botox.

“You can do botox and fillers anytime of year,” she said.

“New studies have actually shown that it has even helped with people who are depressed. We know it helps with migraines given the therapeutic doses, but we also know studies are showing that when people do feel better and look in the mirror and are happier.”

Burgess added: “There is all kinds of new studies. You know we are having people starting younger and younger for preventative measures. You know for wrinkles that they don’t ever want to get and we are having older people that just want to feel a little better.”

Burgess said the spectrum for people getting botox is getting wider and wider, as her oldest botox client is 90 and her youngest is around 23.

“Basically they can make an appointment. If they tell me ahead of time that is what they are interested in than I have them meet my physician and we can go ahead with the treatment that day, or we can re-book and have them come back,” she said.

“There is certainly no pressure, so they have lots of time to think about it. It’s a journey sort of trying to figure out what is out there… it can be very confusing with what you see in the media and what you see on television.”

Burgess said her job is to teach people what the options are and what really works or what doesn’t work.

“I try to educate my clients even in things that I don’t do,” she said.

“I try to be on top of what I feel is a good quality treatment.”

In order to make an appointment, anyone interested can call 519-354-1800 or text 519-360-6566.

Rejuven-Age is located at 78 Victoria Ave. on the corner of Grand Avenue and Victoria Avenue in Chatham.

Burgess said she offers very reasonable pricing, has over 14 years of experience and has recently completed the Allergan MD code master classes and continues specialized training.
