Wallaceburg’s Madison Broad is heading our west after being selected to a Junior National Development Team event.
The Chatham Y Pool Sharks said the 16-year-old swimmer will be gone from May 24 to June 5 for the event.
It consists of a race camp followed by a National Tour Team competing at an international competition in Vancouver, followed by the team traveling to San Francisco for the Santa Clara Arena Pro Series.
“Maddy was selected due to some great swims at the Eastern Canadian Championships,” the Chatham Y Pool Sharks posted on social media.
During the Eastern Canadian Championships held in Etobicoke last weekend, Broad won three golds medals, finishing first in the 50, 100 and 220 metre backstroke events.
