Wallaceburg tagged with obscene, vulgar graffiti

Brand new playground equipment at Colwell Park in Wallaceburg was tagged with obscene and vulgar graffiti sometime this week.

Wallaceburg’s walking bridge has also been targeted.

“Whoever is doing this needs to be caught,” Wallaceburg Coun. Jeff Wesley told the Sydenham Current.

“Have you seen anyone with paint spray etc. on them? Watch for the signs that someone has done this.”

The new equipment at Colwell Park, which will be the future home of Wallaceburg’s Splash Pad, was just installed a couple of weeks ago.

Here are some photos of the damage at the park, including some images blurring out some extremely vulgar words spray painted on the equipment:

“It is very disheartening to see this happen,” Wesley said.

“Why would you want to purposely destroy things that our community works so hard to get.”

Here are some photos of the damage on the walking bridge:

“Graffiti continues to plague a lot of communities and Wallaceburg is not immune,” Wesley said.

“I am asking every resident in Wallaceburg, whether looking out your window, walking or driving to watch for anyone you see doing this and if you do call police right away and take down a description.”

  1. Remember back in the day when we had Police on foot walking the beet??????? Whatever happened to those days when you could walk around uptown and see them checking doors and talking to teenagers making sure they weren’t getting into trouble. You barely see them driving around at all, I think we need MORE policing in this town. You wouldn’t believe some of the stuff my husband and I see on a daily basis and always asking—-where’s a cop when you need one.By the time you call and one shows up the people are long gone.

  2. Had my nephew there over the weekend, there was another child there playing , having a great time, glad it was not there at the time, stop the stupidity people , whoever is doing this needs to grow up and respect our town ,
