Mrs. Maurita Ruby Laprise, a resident of White Rock, BC and formerly of Wallaceburg and Chatham, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Peace Arch Hospice in White Rock, B.C., with her family at her side, at the age of 88.
Maurita was born in Chatham, Ontario and was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Ruby (Eve) Orton. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Laprise (1991). Loving mother of Maureen (Greg) Crowder of White Rock, BC and the late Paul Laprise (2011). Sadly missed by her grandchildren Kristi Crowder (Andres) of Toronto, ON, Geoffrey Crowder of Langley, BC, Tiffany Laprise-Mikhail (Peter) of Caledon, ON, Brandon Laprise (Mindy) of Kitchener, ON and her great grandchild Mason Laprise.
Kind sister of Cora Carpenter (the late Lou, 2005) of Chatham, ON, Gary Orton (Winnie) of Sarnia, ON and sister-in-law of Betty Orton (the late Tom) of Wallaceburg. Predeceased by her brothers James Orton (2016) and Tom Orton (2014).Also survived by several nieces and nephews including Leigh Swift and Debbie Trudgeon, both of Chatham, whom she had a close relationship with.
Cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will be held in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg at a later date.
