The Ministry of Labour is investigating after a man fell off a roof and died earlier this week in Lambton County.

Lamton OPP officials say on Tuesday May 16 just after 11:30 a.m., OPP officers along with Lambton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Petrolia Fire Department were dispatched to an address in the 5000 block of Rokeby Line in Enniskillen Township regarding a labour related accident.

Police officials allege that emergency responders attended the location where initial investigation revealed that a 56-year-old man had been working on a roof approximately 20-25 feet high.

For reasons unknown, the male suddenly fell off the roof landing on the ground below.

The male was transported to hospital by EMS where he was later pronounced dead.

The Ministry of Labour was notified and will be investigating the incident with the assistance of the Lambton OPP.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time.
