The annual spring Demolition Derby is taking place in Dresden this weekend.
The event will be held at the Dresden Raceway on Sunday, May 21 and will begin at 3 p.m.
Alicia VanEsse, one of the event organizers, said they are hoping for 75 cars to enter.
“We are taking a break around 9:30 p.m. As soon as it gets dark out, to have fireworks. For the kids we will take a break and they will have power wheels demo derbies.”
VanEsse said the length of the show will depend on how many vehicles enter.
Participants can sign up in advance of the show or on the day of.
“It’s prize money and a trophy for first place,” VanEsse said, adding the 1st place prize money is $5,000.
