The Chatham-Kent Police Service released an “Awesome Kid Alert” last week.

On Saturday, May 27, 2017 between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Libby is selling lemonade once again this year to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.

This is Libby’s 5th year and she is hoping it will be the most successful year yet.

Last year she raised $951. Head over to North East end of Whippoorwill Crescent and Lark Street in Chathamto get some lemonade on Saturday.

WDSS ‘Unplugged’

The WDSS Arts department is going ‘Unplugged’ this evening.

The school has an awesome lineup of music, art and terrific drama productions.

All of it has been created and performed by WDSS students.

Organizers say this is a great chance to celebrate all of the hard work and talent from throughout the school year.

The library doors open at 7 p.m. It costs a toonie.

There will be some small snacks and refreshments.

Art on display at Wallaceburg Library

Kris Lee, a retired science teacher from Wallaceburg District Secondary School, has three paintings on display at Wallaceburg Branch until June 7. Since retirement, Kris has developed a passion for painting using acrylics.

Kris has been involved with many organizations and committees involving the St. Clair River and nature. This is the first showing of her work. Her series of two paintings called “Reading Room” reflect her love of nature. The “Gulls on Ice Flows” painting reminds her of a private sushi bar for aquatic birds during St. Clair River winters.

“Gulls on Ice Flows” has been donated to the library’s reading program. Proceeds from the sale of the painting will be used to support the TD Summer Reading Program at Wallaceburg Branch. Please contact the library if you are interested in purchasing this donated work of art.
