Calvert Freeman Wright, a resident of Walpole Island First Nation, died suddenly in Chatham on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the age of 65.
Calvert was the son of the late Freeman & Barbara Alma (Rogers) Wright. Beloved partner of Linda George. Loved father of Donna Riley, Chesney Wright and the late Kelsey Wright. Dear grandfather of Melissa, Wade, Emily and Sonny Riley, Mischa Williams, Brennae Kennedy and Hunter Fisher and great grandfather of Nirvana. Brother of Conroy and Charlie Wright, Debbie Jewell, Chris, Gabriel ‘Bullet’ and Judy Wright and the late Walter and Mike Wright.
Calvert worked for Tahgahoning Enterprises, was a hunting and fishing guide and a ferry operator.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 7-9 PM on Thursday. The visiting will continue on Friday at Calvert’s home, 373 Bridge Road on Walpole Island.
The funeral will be celebrated at the Walpole Island Sports Complex on Saturday, May 27 at 2 PM. Interment to follow at Highbanks Cemetery. Online tributes may be left at www.CavanaghFuneralHome.ca
