Update: Alleged cell phone thief turns herself in

The Chatham-Kent Police Service have identified an alleged cell phone thief in Chatham, after she turned herself in.

Police officials say within a few hours of yesterday’s media release being posted on social media, the woman allegedly responsible for the theft of the cell phone was identified.

She attended the police station to turn herself in.

Const. Kelly Helbin, public information officer, told the Sydenham Current that charges are pending in the case.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank the citizens within the community for their help.
