The Wallaceburg Red Devils split a pair of games over the weekend in the Ontario Junior ‘B’ Lacrosse League.
Red Devils 14, Welland 6
Kyle Dawson led the way for Wallaceburg on Saturday at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena with 6 goals, as the Red Devils topped the Welland Generals 14-6.
Sidney Powless had a 5 point night, with 4 goals and 1 assist.
Carter Hastings had 5 points as well, with 1 goal and 4 assists. Vern Hill and Evan Mathany both picked up 1 goal and 3 assists.
Bronson Bea, Cory Lucier and Isaiah Mt. Pleasant all had 3 assists.
Emily Vandamme made 25 saves in the win, she also picked up 2 assists.
A total of 365 pople packed into thr arena for the Saturday afternoon contest.
Hamilton 15, Red Devils 7
Wallaceburg came out flat on Sunday in Hamilton, as they fell to the Bengals 15-7.
Hamilton built an 8-1 lead after the first period and never looked back.
Mathany had 2 goals for the Red Devils, while Mt. Pleasant had 1 goal and 2 assists.
Tyler Brown, Powless, Dawson, and Hill also scored.
Noble Jacobs stopped 27 shots in the loss.
Wallaceburg (11-5-1) remains in first place in the Far West Division with 23 points.
They will battle their division rival, the Windsor Clippers, on the road on Tuesday.
The ball drops at 8 p.m.
