Grand re-opening of Home & Cottage Interiors this Saturday

Home & Cottage Interiors is holding a Grand Re-Opening this Saturday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1964 Dufferin Ave. in Wallaceburg to celebrate their expansion.

“We promoted a moving sale for a few weeks because we moved the existing stock into our workshop area, right next door and it generated a lot of concern,” Diane Galvin, the manager of the store, said with a laugh.

“So many people stopped in to express their sorrow that we were moving out of Wallaceburg, or worse, closing all together. When in fact we really just expanded.”

Home & Cottage Interiors will continue to carry all of the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint products and offer Workshops and custom painting (of furniture and signs) and plans to expand the products DIY customers are looking for to repurpose their furniture.

“We will be adding several new products to our line up in the very near future and also plan to increase our selection of decorative knobs, hooks and add custom Barn Doors and the necessary hardware to hang them.”

In addition to all the great products and services Home & Cottage Interiors has always offered, they have added a new division of their business in their original retail space.

‘The Vintage Market’ features an eclectic collection of vintage, antique and painted furniture and accessories at great prices.

Although they purchase a lot of the products they carry outright, they will also accept gently used furniture and accessories on consignment.

“The furniture consignment idea just sort of evolved on it’s own,” Galvin said.

“It wasn’t part of a master plan, but just sort of happened and we are seriously considering expanding this service as well. The benefits to the consignor are that they don’t have to run ads, make arrangements to meet potential buyers or allow strangers into their homes. The buyers can drop in at their convenience to check out the pieces without making a prior commitment to purchase. It’s a real win/win.”

All consignment items must pass approval.

“We are really looking for unique pieces that are in pristine condition and we like to see photos before committing to inspect them or accept them into our store.”

Make a point to stop in this Saturday and enjoy NO TAX plus some complimentary refreshments in the store.

There will also be a charity barbecue in the parking lot.

“We hope to have our new signage up by then, but we do have a portable sign at the road with Home & Cottage Interiors and The Vintage Market on it… and there will be balloons.”

Home & Cottage Interiors and The Vintage Market are located in the same building at 1964 Dufferin Ave. – which is west of Wallaceburg just passed Fairfield Park Nursing Home.

They are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
