Threshing Festival this weekend
The 42nd Annual Thamesville Threshing Festival is taking place tonight and tomorrow.
Organizers say a fun filled weekend is in store, with many of the annual activities and events set to take place once again.
Kristy Metcalfe, the advertising chairman and secretary for the Festival, says the event kicks off on Friday, June 23 with the parade.

Aarkel celebrating 40 years
A 40th Anniversary celebration for AarKel Tool and Die Inc. is set to be held on Saturday June 24 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The event is open to the public. There will be some fun events, along with plant tours and a barbecue.
AarKel is a major employer in Wallaceburg manufacturing dies and molds primarily for the automotive industry worldwide.
AarKel has recently purchased Platinum Tool in Windsor and Mexico. This acquisition will provide greater local opportunities as it has expanded our manufacturing capabilities and opened new markets across North America.

Museum holding ribbon cutting
The Wallaceburg and District Historical Society announced that it is now able to continue with the Wallaceburg and District Museum’s Educational Institutes Commemoration Project thanks to up to $14,753 in federal funding through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150).
The project will help to both preserve the heritage of Wallaceburg area schools and enhance the utility and increase usage of the Crawford Langstaff Parkette.
A completion ceremony to celebrate this project will be held on June 24, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Crawford Langstaff Parkette of the Wallaceburg and District Museum at 505 King Street, Wallaceburg, Ontario.
