Canada Day BBQ and Family Fun at Wallaceburg Residence

Canada Day BBQ and Family Fun at Wallaceburg Residence

There are many reasons to celebrate this Canada Day.

And one of those reasons locally is taking place at the Wallaceburg Retirement residence.

With Canada celebrating it’s 150th birthday this year, the management and staff at the former Sydenham Residence located at 70 Duke Street in Wallaceburg, are making it extra special for those who live at the facility, their families, friends and the community overall.

The festivities get started at 10:30 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m.

Everyone in the community is welcome.

Marie Hay, manager of the Wallaceburg Residence, says she is looking forward to a good turn out.

“We hope you and your family will join us for a petting zoo from Zoo 2 You, a barbecue, fruit punch and cake and ice cream.

Cathy Phipps, the activity director at the location, has been working hard planning great games that everyone can play together.

“We’ll have ring toss, bubbles, bean bag toss, lawn darts and golf ball ladder toss, just to name a few,” she said.

“We are also happy to have Fred and Mary Rose performing live for the festivities, it is going to be a wonderful day.”
