In front of a packed Wallaceburg Memorial Arena on Saturday, the Wallaceburg Red Devils came up short against the Windsor Clippers.
Windsor controlled most of the game in a 16-12 victory over Wallaceburg.
With the win, the Clippers eliminated the Red Devils and won the best-of-five Ontario Junior ‘B’ Lacrosse League playoffs series, 3-1.
“I think we didn’t bring the intensity that they brought,” Jamie Knight, the Red Devils assistant coach, told reporters following the game.
“We needed to be a little more ready to go. I think our players before the game were ready to go, but when you hit the floor, you just can’t keep giving a good shift, a good shift, we needed great shifts. I feel like at times today we didn’t have that. We waited a bit too long to bring that.”
Wallaceburg captain Cory Lucier led the way on Saturday with 5 goals and 1 assist for six points.
Lucier was also named the first star in the game.
Carter Hastings scored 3 goals and added 3 assists for 6 points as well.

Tightened security at the game
A police presence was visible at the game on Saturday.
A member of the Chatham-Kent Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police were in attendance at the game.
At one point it appeared as if a person in the crowd was being arrested while being escorted out of the arena.
This has not been confirmed.
On the floor, it was a relatively clean game.
Windsor was only assessed 11 minutes of penalties on four infractions throughout the game, while Wallaceburg only had nine minutes on 3 infractions.
The extra security was ordered by the league, after an ugly end to the game in Windsor on Wednesday.
It resulted in a Red Devils coach being charged with assault with a weapon. Read about it, here.
