Thelma Sterling of Wallaceburg

Mrs. Thelma Sterling, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, in Chatham, at the age of 88.

Thelma was born in Chatham and was a daughter of the late James and Jenny (Files) Irwin. Loving mother of Josie (Brian) Abrams, Len (Claire) Gauthier, Charlotte (Darrell) Charron, Sheila (Dan) Salisbury, Shannon (Carrie) Gauthier and Rebecca (Tony) Wagner.Sadly missed by 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her first husband Don Gauthier. Thelma was cherished by her late second husband, Bill Sterling and his surviving family.

Also survived by a special nephew Pat Kelly, her feline friend Archie and her many nieces and nephews. Kind sister-in-law of Patricia Burke and Donna Irwin.

Also predeceased by her siblings Frank Irwin, Ernie Irwin and Eunice Kelly.
Friends and family will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 2-6 p.m.
Following Thelma’s wishes, cremation will follow.

The interment of ashes will take place in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice or the Wallaceburg Animal Shelter may be left at the funeral home.
