Arrest made after attempted break-in in Wallaceburg

A man is in custody following an attempted break-in in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Friday July 14, officers responded to an attempt break and enter at a Wallace St. residence in Wallaceburg.

A 31 year-old man was allegedly located on the premises and was scared off by the homeowner.

Police say the suspect then allegedly fled to a neighbouring residence, entering it, to hide from police.

The K9 Unit was dispatched and tracked the suspect to the King St. area, where he was arrested and charged with two counts of break and enter.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing.
