Wallaceburg District Secondary School students and competitors from the Chatham Kent 55+ games partnered in a playdown event on May 10 in the Prediction Walk event at Wallaceburg high school.

– 75+ Women Prediction Walk – Sandra Litwin (Gold); Ruth Van Wolde (Silver)

– 55+ Men Prediction Walk – Ted Vercouteren (Gold)

– 75+ Men Prediction Walk – Bill Mardling (Gold); Peter Hensel (Silver)

– Nordic Walk Women – Norine Duck (Gold); Brenda Masson (Silver)

– Nordic Walk Men – Allan Duck (Gold)

Janine Day, course instructor for this group has been involved in this annual walking activity with the 55+ Games for over five years as part of the WDSS program.

Her Grade 11 co-ed physical education class were very excited to be part of it.

“We like to see the students help out each year in this important event,” she said.

Alyssa Wadsworth, was one of the 24 students assisting on Wednesday morning.

“It was nice to be able to help out our community in a way that promotes life-long activity,” she said.

The spring series of events continues throughout May and June concluding on June 13. The top place finishers are now eligible to attend the 2017 Southwest Regional Games being held in Sarnia, Ontario on August 16, 2017.
