No charges laid after vehicle fire

No charges have been laid after a vehicle fire in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on August 4 at approximately 6:29 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Police and Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services responded to a single motor vehicle in the ditch in the 9000 block of McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.

Police say the vehicle allegedly went off the roadway, ruptured a fuel line and caught fire.

The fire was extinguished and the driver, a 44-year-old Chatham woman, was unharmed.

There was approximately $5,000 dollars damage to the vehicle.

There was no injuries or charges, police say.
