Update: Tractor collision to blame for massive power outage

A farm tractor collision in Enniskillen Township is to blame for knocking out power to 17,000 Hydro One customers in Lambton County on Monday.

OPP officials say just before 3:30 p.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the incident in the 4900 block of Churchill Line.

Lambton County OPP along with Enniskillen Fire Department and Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the location and observed a farm tractor, in a field, that had collided with two hydro poles.

As a result of the collision, hydro was interrupted for several hours for over 17,000 customers before hydro crews could restore power.

Police say no injuries were report as a result of the collision and no charges will be laid.

The OPP also reported that there were no significant traffic related issues as a result of this incident.
