The career and retirement of Dr. France Ng will be celebrated in Dresden on Monday evening.

The Dresden Community Healthcare Foundation will be hosting a reception in the waiting room of the Dresden Medical Centre from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“All are welcome to come and toast Dr. Ng on a long and wonderful career serving many generations of patients in the Dresden area,” Dresden Community Healthcare Foundation officials posted on social media.

Dresden Community Healthcare Foundation officials say Dr. Ng grew up on the island of Mauritius, and went to Ireland to study medicine.

There he graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons.

He took up residency at the Central Middlesex Hospital in London.

Dr. Ng eventually immigrated to Canada and joined a family health group in Hamilton.

He was active at the Hamilton General Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital and Henderson Hospital.

From Hamilton, Dr. Ng relocated to Dresden and has been practicing in the North Kent community for the past 40 years.
