Jorge Manuel Cunha, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Windsor Regional Hospital, on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the age of 50.
Beloved and cherished husband of almost 32 years of Grace (Oliveira) Cunha. Loving and very proud father of all his children, João Pedro ‘Peter’ Cunha (Kylie Saya), Paulo Jorge Cunha, and Ana Sofia Cunha LeBel (Nolan). Jorge is the son of Manuel and Armanda (Santos) Cunha. Dear brother of Tony Cunha (Tina) and Rosa Dias (Manuel). Uncle Jorge was very much loved by his nieces and nephews Michael, Adrian and Anthony Cunha and Andre, Danny and Sabrina Dias.
Jorge was an employee of Wabtec and former Vice President of U.A.W. Local 251. He was an avid and very successful outdoorsman and an incredibly accomplished runner and marathoner.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday. KofC Prayers at 5:45 Wednesday at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Thursday, September 14 at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
