Kings win, Lakers lose in season openers

Kings win home opener

The Dresden Kings dug themselves out a hole, to win their home opener on Friday night, September 15 against the Petrolia Flyers.

Brendan Ritchie scored the winner for Dresden at the 9:06 mark of the third period.

Geoffry VandenBoorn scored a pair of goals for the Kings, while Will Tetzlaff and Cory Lucier also scored for Dresden.

Cody Hitchcock stopped 21 shots for the win.

The Kings will visit the Wallaceburg Lakers on Wednesday, September 20 in their next game.

Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

Lakers drop two

The Wallaceburg Lakers dropped two games on the road to start their season this past weekend.

Wallaceburg lost to Mooretown 10-0 on Saturday, September 16.

The Lakers turned around and fell to the Blenheim Blades on Sunday, September 17, 13-1.

Zachery Hartig scored the Lakers lone goal.
