Original story: Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Chatham-Kent.

Forecasters say scattered showers with isolated embedded thunderstorms are expected to affect the region today.

Local rainfall amounts of 15-25 mm are expected with higher amounts possible in heavier showers and thunderstorms.

Official are asking people to continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
