Pumpkinfest, Farmer’s Market, Walpole Fair, Firefest

– The Wallaceburg Kinsmen Club are holding their 3rd annual Pumpkinfest event on Saturday, September 23. A refreshment tent, kid’s zone, barbecue, pumpkin pie baking contest, food vendors, pancake breakfast, craft and vendor show, silent auction and music from “Just Country Boys” will be taking place at the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

– The final Wallaceburg farmer’s Market is taking place on Saturday in the downtown James Street parking lot. Some amazing fall produce will be available from some new vendors, plus people’s favourites from the last two markets. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

– The Walpole Island Fall Fair is taking place this weekend at Highbanks Park. A market, bouncy castles, duck calling contest and a horseshoe tournament is taking place on Saturday. A parade, baby photo contest, karaoke and a pumpkin carving contest is being held on Sunday.

– Firefest is taking place in downtown Chatham on Saturday. Fire response demonstrations, the Detroit Fire Department Clown Team, magicians, music and a fire truck parade are all happening at the event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

– A barbecue for the Wallaceburg Dog Park is taking place at Basso’s No Frills in Wallaceburg on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

– Looking ahead to next week, the annual Dresden Plate Quilt Festival will be held on Friday and Saturday, while the new Wallaceburg Centennial Lions Club will hold their Charter Night on September 30 at the UAW Hall. Tickets are $30 and are available by calling Cheryl at 519-330-1621.
