Lakers lose to Lakeshore

The Lakeshore Canadiens came to Wallaceburg on Wednesday night, and left town with a 5-2 win over the Lakers.

Matthew Brevetti and Elijah Contreras scored the goals for Wallaceburg.

Josh Lorangermade 32 saves in the loss.

Wallaceburg’s record falls to 1-3-0 on the season.

The Lakers play back-to-back games, as they travel to Petrolia to face the Flyers on Thursday evening.

Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

Kings top Sharks

The Dresden Kings doubled up the Wheatley Sharks on Monday night, by a score of 6-3.

Darien Davis had 2 goals and 1 assist, Cory Lucier had 1 goals and 3 assists and Geoffry VandenBoorn chipped in with 4 assists for the Kings.

Kyle Hachey, Derek Shaw, and Will Tetzlaff also scored for the Kings, who now own a 2-2-0 record on the young season.

Dresden had lost to the Essex 73’s on Friday, September 22 by a score of 6-2.

Brodie Conlon and Hachey scored the goals for Dresden.

Dresden will host Amherstburg on Friday, and will travel to Blenheim to battle the Blades on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 7:30 p.m.

In other Kings news, the team has acquired forward Nolan VandenBoorn and goalie Brendan Johnston from the Chatham Maroon via trade.

L-K Cardinals win in senior boys volleyball

The L-K Cardinals senior boys squad had a clean sweep on Wednesday in high school volleyball action.

The Cards topped Pain Court 2-0, St. Francois-Xavier 2-0 and Tilbury 2-0.

Tartans fall to Northern in junior hoops

Sarnia Northern topped the Wallaceburg Tartans 37-29 in junior girls high school basketball on Tuesday.

Ferrah Blackbird and Laura Marcus led the way for Wallaceburg with 8 points each.

Wallaceburg will compete in Northern’s tournament this upcoming weekend.
