Joseph Raymond Alphonse Roy, a resident of Sombra, passed away in the Sarnia Hospital on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the age of 72.
Ray is the son of the late Joseph Armand and Blanche Alice (Cote) Roy. Beloved husband of Judy. Loving father of Pattie Barron (Kelly), Lizzie Cyr (Dan), Nancy Terpstra (Darryl) and Stepfather of Valerie Bracken (Larry), Ken Delrue (Sherry) and Michael Delrue (Jenn). Dear grandfather of Michael, Megan, Kirstyn, Kiara, Jett, Hunter, Mya, Reid, Ruby, Meghan, Sydney, Jaxon and Lucas. Brother of Jeanine Morphew (late Robert), Ronald Roy (late Danielle), Aline Pelletier and Michael Roy (Gini).
Ray was a member of IBEW #530 Electrical Union for over 50 years. He played a lot of football and hockey when he was younger and later came to have a passion for chess, darts and bowling.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Thursday. Parish prayers at 8:30 PM Thursday. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Friday, October 6th at 2 PM. Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
