Brodie scores twice for Flames

Dresden’s T.J. Brodie was sensational in a 6-3 Flames win over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.

Brodie scored twice and added 2 assists for a 4 point night, his first and only points so far on the young season.

Brodie also recorded 5 shots on goal in 25:49 minutes of ice time.

The 27-year-old defenceman was held scoreless on Monday against the Anaheim Ducks, but the Flames managed to shut out Anaheim 2-0.

Brodie and the Flames will be in L.A. on Wednesday to battle the Kings, before heading home to host Ottawa on Friday night.

Griffith and Sabres fall to Devils

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith and the Buffalo Sabres fell to the New Jersey Devils on Monday, by a score of 6-2.

Griffith was held scoreless for the second game in a row for Buffalo.

He did record one hit in 13:45 minutes of ice time.

Buffalo also lost to the Islanders on Saturday by a score of 6-3.

Griffith has 1 assist in three games for the Sabres so far this year.

The Sabres will be in San Jose on Thursday, before battling the Kings in L.A. on Saturday.

Kings split on the weekend, Lakers in action this week

In Junior ‘C’ hockey, the Dresden Kings split a pair of games on the weekend.

Dresden beat Mooretown 6-4 on Friday night at home.

Brendan Johnston stopped 26 for the win, while six different skaters found the back of the net for the Kings.

In back-to-back games, Dresden fell to the Sharks 5-1 in Wheatley.

Brantly Kuipers scored the lone Kings goal.

Cody Hitchcock made 31 saves in the loss.

Dresden will be in Lakeshore on Thursday before hosting Amherstburg on Friday night at Dresden Arena.

The Wallaceburg Lakers are in Essex on Tuesday night, before hosting Blenheim on Wednesday at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.

Puck drops on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
