Darrel Phenix of Wallaceburg

Darrel Phenix, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the age of 84.

Darrel is the son of the late George and Mabel Phenix. Beloved husband of Arlyn (Tiffin). Loving father of Chris (Liz), Mark (Kay), Darra Lynne Wilson (Rob), Michael (Lenna), David (Kelly), Taryn Havens (Chris) and the late Kim and Lance. Cherished grandfather of Sommer, Kevin, Jacob, Karah, Jenn, Sheena, Kayla, Jesse, Mitchell, Haley, Drew, Tanner, Samantha and great grandfather of Presley, Nash, Londyn, Kinsley, Beckham, Nixon, Lennox and Lawson. Dear brother of Maxine Waddell (Late Ray). Darrel will also be missed by dear family friend, Brad Jacobs, as well as his many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. He will be sadly missed by his and Arlyn’s K9 companion, Echo.

Darrel was an avid woodworker, golfer, and served as a trustee for the Separate School Board for several years. Sports being a big part of his life, he was involved in playing baseball, basketball as well as track and field. Darrel was also a true and faithful Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays fan.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Friday, October 13 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 11 am.
