Charges have been laid after a rollover crash on the 401 in Chatham-Kent.

OPP officials say on October 17 around 2 a.m. officers responded to a tractor trailer rollover on Highway 401 near Dillon Road.

OPP officials allege that investigation revealed a westbound commercial motor vehicle had lost control, crashed through the guardrail, rolled onto its side and came to rest on the bridge embankment.

The driver was treated for minor injuries.

As a result, the male driver, 50-years-old from Windsor, was charged with careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Emergency crews attend and Highway 401 westbound was temporarily closed in order to accommodate emergency and towing crews.
