Everyone on the school bus is fine, however one person in another vehicle has been sent to hospital with “serious injuries” after a crash early this morning near Dresden.

The collision occurred on Dawn Mills Road near Croton Line just after 8 a.m.

“What I have been advised, all passengers on the bus are fine, as well as the bus driver,” Const. Kelly Helbin, public information officer with the Chatham-Kent Police Service, told the Sydeham Current.

Parents of children who were on the bus during the crash also posted on social media that all of the children on board and the bus driver were fine.

Chatham-Kent EMS officials tweeted that 17 patients were assessed and one person was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Helbin added that few details are being released at the moment.

“Besides it being a serious motor vehicle collision, which remains under investigation at this time,” Helbin said.

“As soon as I can, I will release more information to the media.”

Sources say an air ambulance had been called to the scene.

However, the helicopter was redirected to a different call and never arrived outside of Dresden.

We’ll provide more information when it becomes available.
