Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith scored his first goal of the regular season for the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday, October 25.

The tally for the 24-year-old forward came at the 17:26 mark of the third period against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Griffith’s wrist shot found the top corner of the net, while his line-mate Johan Larsson provided a screen in front.

“It just gives our line confidence,” Griffith told reporters after the game about the goal.

“We had some chances throughout the game, but we just didn’t do a good job getting in front of (Blue Jackets goalie Sergei) Bobrovsky, but (Larsson) did a good job getting in front of him there, I don’t think he saw it. It just gives our line some confidence going into the next game.”

Here are a couple different looks at the goal:

Griffith ended the night with the 1 goal, a +1 rating, 2 blocks and 3 shots on net in 11:08 minutes of ice time.

The marker was the only highlight for the Sabres, as they fell to Columbus 5-1.

Buffalo is now 3-6-2 on the season.

Griffith now has 2 points, 1 goal and 1 assist, in 9 games for the Sabres.

Buffalo will host San Jose on Saturday.

Puck drops at 1 p.m.
