Francis William McGivern, a resident of Chatham, died peacefully in at Windsor Regional Hospital on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the age of 70.
Francis is the son of the late John & Rose (O’Hara) McGivern. Beloved husband of Laura (Demers). Loving father of Shane Francis McGivern (Debrah Parker-McGivern) and Jenny Lynn McGivern. Dear grandfather of Lillian, Phelan, Carys, Kaden and Keiran. Brother of Pat & Leona McGivern, Theresa & Mike McDonald, John McGivern, Rose Marie & John Johnston, Bernadette & Brent Moore and brother-in-law of Larry Demers (Sandra) and the late Leo Demers. He is predeceased by his sister Mary Seney (2015) and brothers Michael (October 27, 2017) and Hugh McGivern (1994). He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Francis had worked as an electrician for Campbell Soup, Accurcast and Meritor. He was also a passionate minor lacrosse and hockey manager.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Monday. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 647 Murray Street in Wallaceburg, on Tuesday, October 31 at 11 AM. Cremation with interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery to follow.
