Uttering threats in Wallaceburg

A Wallaceburg man turned himself into police, after allegedly threatening a woman.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say in September 2017, a man was placed on a probation order with conditions.

One of those conditions was to refrain from communicating in any way with a woman that is known to him.

On October 26, 2017 the man allegedly called the woman and began yelling at her.

On October 27, 2017 the man allegedly called her again and threatened to cause damage to her vehicle.

She then called police to report the incidents.

Due to his unknown whereabouts, a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Police say yesterday morning, the 30-year-old Wallaceburg man attended the police station in Chatham to turn himself in.

He was arrested on the warrant and charged with uttering threats to property and two counts of failing to comply with his probation order.

He was later released with a court date of November 20, 2017.
