Police looking to ID theft suspect

The Chatham-Kent Police Service are reaching out to the public to help identify an alleged theft suspect.

Police officials say on Sunday, November 5 an unknown woman entered Food Basics on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

At 9:50 a.m. the woman is captured on video surveillance exiting through a closed cashier lane with several items in her shopping cart, which she allegedly made no attempt to pay for.

Also, just prior to the woman exiting Food Basics at 9:52 a.m., she is allegedly observed stealing a wallet off the customer service desk that was left on the counter by an elderly man.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the unknown woman, who is pictured above.
