Dresden man arrested on a number of warrants

A Dresden man was arrested in Wallaceburg early this morning on a number of warrants.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say in September this year, a man became involved in an argument with another male that is known to him.

As the argument escalated, the man allegedly pulled out a knife and lunged toward the male.

There was no contact made as the male stepped away, which ended the confrontation, police allege.

Later that same day, the male contacted police to report the incident.

Attempts made to locate the man were unsuccessful and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

In October, the same men became involved in another argument.

Police allege on that date, the man intentionally knocked over boxes belonging to the male.

The boxes were filled with items that were broken as a result of being knocked over, and the estimated damage value was $520.

Police were called again, but due to the unknown whereabouts of the man, another warrant was issued for his arrest.

Early this morning at 2:15 a.m. a 23-year-old Dresden man was located in Wallaceburg and arrested on his outstanding warrants.

He has been charged with the following offences:

– Mischief under $5,000

– Assault with a Weapon

– Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and later released with a court date of December 13, 2017
